Peninsula Golf Club is seeking a full-time, permanent employee to fill the position of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The ideal candidate’s qualifications will include; having a valid Washington State Pesticide Applicators License, type Private Commercial or being able to acquire one in a timely fashion, having a valid Washington State Driver’s License and Social Security Card. Additionally, we are looking for a person who can help the course to be the best it can be each day. They must be willing to do the things it takes to bring the golf course to the next level, takes ownership and has pride in work ethic. Knowledge of irrigation, drainage, grounds and greens keeping and being able to run the machinery it takes to do those things. Knowing your way around a shop and having mechanical awareness is a plus. Be able to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas with respect and good humor. Understand and enjoy playing the game of golf. This position reports directly to the Superintendent, who reports to the Board of Directors. There is a benefits package that includes health, vacation and holiday that would be discussed with the awarded candidate.

Bald Eagle Golf Club located in the scenic coastal community of Point Roberts, is an 18-Hole championship golf course designed by Wayne Carleton, now under the direction of new Ownership. In 2003, Bald Eagle was ranked as the 8th Best New Public Course by Golf Digest Magazine. Bald Eagle is known for its classic design, aesthetic value and dry conditions, set in a mature forested setting in Point Roberts WA.
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendent's guidance, the Assistant Superintendent will direct and participate in the maintenance of the golf course and practice facilities. The Assistant Superintendent will also play an integral role in leading staff members as well as hiring and training new staff to meet and exceed the expectation level and standards of the Bald Eagle Golf Club. The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Superintendent's capacity during an absence.
$3,500 – $4,000 per month D.O.E.

Facility is an 18-hole private club established in 1900. Our equipment fleet is a combination of new Toro and John Deere equipment all updated within last 5-7 years. Maintenance facility was built and completed in 2000.
The Equipment Manager reports daily to the Superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventative maintenance program and repairs to all golf course equipment. This position will assist in training employees on equipment, conduct safety meetings and play a large role in planning/construction of new wash bay. The candidate will also provide recommendations for purchase/lease capital equipment.
Individual must have 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair of golf course equipment. Must provide a set of tools and possess the ability to lift 50 pounds. Candidate will display good communication skills and ability to work well with others.

Positions in this class, under general supervision, perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair activities for a variety of grounds and general facility maintenance equipment such as small gas-powered hand tools, mowers, tractors and pumps; operate welding and grinding equipment; and order and inventory some equipment parts.
Perform the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment, maintain an inventory of parts and equipment, coordinate warranty and service agreements with outside venders. Perform the more complex diagnostic, maintenance and repair on specialized equipment including complex hydraulic equipment, repair and maintenance on utility vehicles, large and small tractors, triplex and walking green and tee mowers, multi-deck rotary mowers, large and small aerifiers, core harvesters, blowers, sweepers and small gas powered equipment. Check and diagnose charging, starting, and electrical systems, conduct voltage, resistance and capacity tests on lighting and other electrical systems. Operate reel grinders and lathes and perform minor welding and fabrication.
Requires one year of trade school, community college or similar training in automotive, small engine or grounds equipment maintenance and repair work, and two years of experience in repair and maintenance of diesel and gas powered equipment and pneumatic or hydraulic power tools. (or a combination of education, training and/or experience which provides an equivalent). A current, valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Prior golf mechanic experience with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work under pressure while prioritizing tasks and effectively communicating with Golf Course Superintendent. Good judgment and problem solving skills. Reliable with good attendance. A self-starter with the ability to handle a variety of tasks and assignments in a fast-paced environment.
$30.18 – $32.55 hourly
Classified Civil Service, Regular, Full-Time, Temporary
This is a “temporary” position and does not qualify for the City’s benefit package but does offer an additional 5%-25% premium pay in lieu of benefits. Sick leave, restaurant discounts, and limited free golf are also provided. Hours will be flexible depending on your schedule and availability but will generally be M–F, 5 a.m.–1:30 p.m. During the winter months or during times of reduced work load, these hours may be reduced.

This is a Sales Representative role integrated with product delivery, and includes inside sales, outside sales, cold calling, retail garden center consumer interaction, assessing store inventory needs, promoting new products, wholesale direct sales to industry professionals, developing new markets, delivering product as needed, etc. This also includes some weekend work, trainings, trade shows, exhibits, etc.
Product delivery makes this position quite physical at times. Deliveries vary from the company pickup truck to our 20' box truck. The ability to handle 20# to 50# bags and boxes is essential. Deliveries of our 2000# pallets require the ability to handle them with a pallet jack, both manual and electric. The physical ability to lift and move this kind of inventory is essential. Experience driving larger trucks is also important, as you will need to be comfortable driving our box truck, backing it up to loading docks, and maneuvering in traffic.
A background in the green industry with connections is strongly preferred. This includes experience working with landscaping, golf, grounds management, growers, and/or retail sales. Our current focus is growing our client base and sales in the landscape industry, retail markets, supporting existing client base, and expanding into related markets, including Oregon and California.
Because of our emphasis on education, a background in sales should include the ability to speak/educate comfortably with strangers and in front of groups.
Training and experience in the field of horticulture is strongly advised, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture or similar field, being preferred.
Good driving record, driving ability, and credit history are a must, as you will be driving company vehicles, including the delivery box truck.
Living within 30 minutes of the Port of Tacoma preferred.
